VMS Racing OEM coilover spanner wrench set for the C8 Corvette to be able to adjust the ride height on your C8 Z51/Z06, and the rear of your Front Lift Option E60 (with GPS front lift) Corvette (FOR FRONT LIFT E60 OPTION CORVETTE LOWERING KIT CLICK HERE). The VMS Racing spanner wrench is a precision machined tool specifically designed for use on the C8 Corvette, it is not a universal tool with a nice logo on it that kind of fits your coilovers.
This tool has FIVE major advantages from the universal tools that are being sold by most others:
First, It contacts the aluminum spring seat and the locking collar on two teeth instead of only one, which virtually eliminates slipping and the possibility of the tool damaging the teeth on the spring seats or the locking collars as the pressure is divided amongst two teeth.
Second, the tool is made out of aluminum which will not gall and damage the aluminum on your coilovers, like steel or stainless steel wrenches will on the spring seat or locking collar.
Third, since this tool was specifically made for the C8 the keyways on the wrenches are a precise fit to the keyways on the aluminum spring seat and locking collars, again making it even more unlikely that they will slip and you will gall or damage your shocks.
Fourth, and most importantly it comes with a cutout with a steel dowel pin on the back of the smaller wrench so that you can hold the coilover body in place with the smaller wrench while you turn your spring seat with the larger wrench. The factory threaded coilover body has holes on bottom of it specifically for this purpose. Without the cutout and the dowel pin on the smaller wrench the coilover will rotate on you while you try and adjust the height. It is very difficult to adjust the spring seat without this tool as the coilover body rotates as you try and spin the upper seat. Many a C8 owner has damaged their coilovers by using a universal wrench set and then having to use a pair of channel locks on the coilover threads to stop the coilover body from spinning, effectively damaging their shocks.
Fifth, the smaller spanner wrench has a 3 inch scale in 1/8 inch increments so that you can precisely measure how much you are lowering the car.
